What Matchanic is
Matchanic is a website where you tell garages what your car needs and they can quote for the work. You start with your registration, choose the job from a list or describe the problem, add the postcode where the car is, and post it.
Garages on Matchanic can see your job, and each one decides whether to quote and what to charge. Every quote names its garage and links to that garage’s profile, where you can see what it says about itself and any reviews from other drivers on Matchanic. You can message a garage about its quote, and accept one if it suits you. From there, you deal with that garage directly.
It’s free to post a job and read quotes, and you don’t have to accept any of them.

What Matchanic isn’t
Not a garage
We don’t do repairs. Each quote names the garage that would do the work.
Not a price guide
We don’t estimate prices. Each price is a quote for your job, in the name of the garage that would do the work. If we enter a quote on a garage’s behalf, its quote card says so.
Not a payment service
We don’t take payment for the work. If you accept a quote, you pay the garage directly.
Not a guarantee on the work
We don’t inspect repairs or offer a warranty. The work, and any problem with it, is between you and the garage.
